WALT convert units of measurements.

SC:

• Identify unit of measurement
• Convert measurement between mm, cm, m, km
• Use the conversion scale

Today I did converting units of measurements and I found the task a little bit challenging. I found number 1 easy because the question was the thickness of a text book. And I answered Millilitre because that is how you measure it. I didn't do so well because the questions got harder and harder. I was struggling at the start but I managed to answer the questions and get them all right.  

SRA Cards

WALT build our vocabulary and comprehension.

SC:

• Read the text
• Activate knowledge about the text
• Skim and scan for key information

Today I did SRA cards and I was not happy with my results because my goal was to get 10/10. I did well on reading the text and understanding the text. I didn't do so well because I didn't use skim and scan. I didn't do so well because it took me a long time to read and finish the text. Also there were some really hard words that I didn't understand. My next step is to search up the words I don't understand. My next step is to try and get 10/10 next time I do this task. My next step is to use skim and scan so I can finish reading the story faster.

Angle in a Triangles

Task 7

WALT find angles in a triangle

SC:

• Add known angles together
• Subtract total from 180°

Today I did Add known angles together and subtract total from 180°. I did well on adding the numbers and subtracting them. I did well on using my time wisely and finishing my task on time. What didn't go so well was I didn't understand number 13 and I got the question wrong. My next step is to understand how to do number 13 and practice so next time I do similar task like this it can be easy for me.

• Use a dictionary for unknown terms
• Practise unknown words

What I did well:

• I did well using a dictionary for unknown terms.
• I did well knowing some words for example Ruler,Right,Angles and Clockwise.
• I did well by searching some words I didn't understand.

What I didn't do so well:

• I didn't do so well on practising unknown words.
• I didn't do well because there were some hard words that I didn't understand.
• I was struggling at the start but I managed to get all the questions right.

My next step:

• My next step is to practice the words I don't understand.
• My next step is to do more tasks like this so I can learn some new words.
• My next step is to ask my teacher if I don't understand a word.

Inquiry Presentation

This week we were presenting our inquiry presentation and our inquiry was to put a recycling bin next to the Tennis Court. The reason we chose this is because it is not safe for the kids and because we want to be known as a tiny community. After we presented our inquiry we got an A and we were really happy. We could have Improved by creating more bins and putting them under the shelter.

WIS Room 8

Some students travel about 15 or 18 km to come to Auckland from their country. People move to another countries because maybe to have a better live because some countries don't have food and water so they move to another country to have a better live. So many people's parents are born overseas but they want their children to have a better live so they move to another country.

Social Connections

Today I was doing thing that are connected to me. The first one that I choose is school because I always come to school. The second one that I choose is Church because I always go to church every Sundays. The third thing I choose is club because I go to my Futsal club every Saturdays. The fourth one that I choose is family because I always spend time with my family.
