I found the thinking questions quite difficult because you have to think deep and answer the questions.

Today I did SRA card and I was really happy with my result because I got 10/10. I did well because I finished reading the story really fast. I did well because I used skim and scan to help me read the story. It took me a while to answer all the questions but I managed to finish it and managed to get all the answers right.

Maths T4 W4

WALT work out practical problems using a rule

SC:

• Identify the term numbers
• Use the rule
• Add, subtract, multiply or divide the input number by the rule
• Write the cost

Today I did practical problems using rule and I was really happy with my result because I got 6/6. I didn't do well because I didn't understand how to do it at the start but then I understood how to do it and managed to get all the answers right. I did well on staying on task and using my time wisely. I didn't do well because I used calculator to find some of the answers. My next step is to not try to work it out without using a calculator.

Algebra

WALT understand special number sequences

SC:

• Look at each pattern
• Continue the pattern
• List the number of dots

Today I did number sequences and I was not happy with my work because I only got up to number 3. I didn't do well because I didn't understand question number 4,5 and 6. I did well on answering the 3 questions and getting them all right. My next step is to understand how to do it so next time I do a similar task like this it can be easier for me.

Today I kiwikids news and I am really happy with my work because I answered all the questions. I did well on answering the recall questions. I was struggling to find out when the event took place but after some research I managed to find out the answer. I did well on staying of task and using my time wisely.

Task 5

WALT work out word problems involving number sequence

SC:

• Read the questions
• Identify the missing numbers in the sequence
• Work out the missing number by using the sequence pattern
• Write down the missing numbers

Today I did Algebra level 4 and I was not happy with my results because I got 11/13. I did well on answering the questions but I got 2 questions wrong. I did well on staying on task and using my time wisely. I didn't do well because I was struggling at the start and didn't understand how to do the task but at the end I managed to understand and get 11/13. My next step is to get 100% on my next task.

I did well on taking my time and answering the questions. My next step is to use skim and scan so next time I read a story I can finish it quickly. English Skills

Today I did English Skills and I did well on answering the questions and trying my best. I didn't do well on finding the adjectives because some of them had more than 1 in a sentence. I did well on staying on task and finishing it on time. It was challenging because I am not that good at my adjectives. My next step is to know my adjectives so next time I do tasks like this it can be easier for me.

Algebra

Today I did Algebra and I was really happy with my result because I was able to get all the answers right. I found the task a bit easy because it was easy to find the missing numbers. I did well on answering the question and finish my task on time. I did well on finding the rule for the number sequence. I did well on identify the missing number or shape.

Adjectives

WALT improve our punctuation and grammar skills

SC:

• Identify the part of speech
• Use all clues available to make the most informed answer
• Activate prior knowledge about how parts of speech work

Today I did English Skills and I did well on underlining the adjective words. I did well because I was reading the sentence carefully. I was struggling at the start because I didn't know what adjectives meant. I did well today cause I learnt what adjective means. My next step is to do more task related to adjectives so I can get better at it. I did well cause I used skim and scan to help me read the sentences faster.  

Perimeter of a shape

WALT find the perimeter of a shape

SC:

• Identify the measurements of the side of a shape
• Add all the measurements together

Today I did finding the perimeter of a shape and I did well cause I got all the questions right. I did well on adding the numbers and finding out the perimeter of the shape. I didn't do well because I thought u times the numbers to find the perimeter of a shape. I was struggling at the start but I managed to finish the task on time.

Shoes Stack Chalange

Today we did the shoes stack challenge and our group did well because we managed to get it quite high. We did well because we worked together and we used our laces to balance the shoes. We were struggling at the start because we didn't have an idea how we were going to make it but at the end we managed to finish it. Our next step is to use our laces more so the shoes can balance well.

Add or subtract converted measurements

Today I did adding and subtracting converted measurements and I found it a little hard because I din't know what tonne was. I did well on answering the questions and I got 7/9. It was hard because I didn't know how to add when it has dot on it for example 7.8 + 2243. I was struggling at the start but I managed to finish the task. I did well because I used my time wisely but I didn't get 9/9. My next step is to learn to add it so next time I do this task it can be easier for me.

Lost Underground

Today we read a book called Lost Underground and we had to answer some questions. I did really well on answering the questions. I did well on staying on task and using my time wisely. I was struggling at the start but I managed to finish it. I didn't do well on reading the text because I didn't use skim and scan to help me find the key information. I didn't do well on reading the book because it took me a really long time to finish it.

Maths

WALT convert units of measurements.

SC:

• Identify unit of measurement
• Convert measurement between mm, cm, m, km
• Use the conversion scale

Today I did converting units of measurements and I found the task a little bit challenging. I found number 1 easy because the question was the thickness of a text book. And I answered Millilitre because that is how you measure it. I didn't do so well because the questions got harder and harder. I was struggling at the start but I managed to answer the questions and get them all right.

Today I did SRA cards and I was not happy with my results because my goal was to get 10/10. I did well on reading the text and understanding the text. I didn't do so well because I didn't use skim and scan. I didn't do so well because it took me a long time to read and finish the text. Also there were some really hard words that I didn't understand. My next step is to search up the words I don't understand. My next step is to try and get 10/10 next time I do this task. My next step is to use skim and scan so I can finish reading the story faster.

Angle in a Triangles

Task 7

WALT find angles in a triangle

• Subtract total from 180°

Today I did Add known angles together and subtract total from 180°. I did well on adding the numbers and subtracting them. I did well on using my time wisely and finishing my task on time. What didn't go so well was I didn't understand number 13 and I got the question wrong. My next step is to understand how to do number 13 and practice so next time I do similar task like this it can be easy for me.

• Use a dictionary for unknown terms
• Practise unknown words

What I did well:

• I did well using a dictionary for unknown terms.
• I did well knowing some words for example Ruler,Right,Angles and Clockwise.
• I did well by searching some words I didn't understand.

What I didn't do so well:

• I didn't do so well on practising unknown words.
• I didn't do well because there were some hard words that I didn't understand.
• I was struggling at the start but I managed to get all the questions right.

My next step:

• My next step is to practice the words I don't understand.
• My next step is to do more tasks like this so I can learn some new words.
• My next step is to ask my teacher if I don't understand a word.

Inquiry Presentation

This week we were presenting our inquiry presentation and our inquiry was to put a recycling bin next to the Tennis Court. The reason we chose this is because it is not safe for the kids and because we want to be known as a tiny community. After we presented our inquiry we got an A and we were really happy. We could have Improved by creating more bins and putting them under the shelter.
